Gas Masks
There were big ones for babies, little ones for children –
the babies’ ones had a pump on! Mickey Mouse Masks
they were called
A lot of people looked better with them on than off!
All pillar boxes had special paint on. You knew if the
paint turned green you were being gassed
My mother-in-law’s brother was gassed and I knew
what it was like – like terrible asthma and terribly thin
All I wanted was my gas mask!
A project centred around the experiences of people who lived through World War II.

What is Creative Reminiscence?
Creative Reminiscence sessions provide an interesting, light-hearted and stimulating environment where those taking part can enjoy rediscovering and sharing their memories in a new and meaningful way. A series of creative group sessions lead to informal performances of original stories/monologues based on the personal reminiscences of people over the age of 60
